Land’s End Airport (IATA: LEQ, ICAO: EGHC) is situated near the ancient mining town of St. Just and 5 NM (9.3 km; 5.8 miles) west of Penzance in Cornwall, it is the most south westerly airport of mainland Britain and there are many reasons to come and visit us.

Out-of-Hours movements are not permitted except in exceptional circumstances that have been pre-arranged with the Aerodrome Authority.

Land's End Airport Safety Instructions for GA flights 

The following safety instructions must be followed for GA flights to continue to be permitted at Land’s End due to recent safety issues:

  • Mobile phones: Not to be used airside
  • Hi-Viz: At least one person must wear a hi-viz and all others to stay in a tight group with this person
  • Green Pedestrian Walkways: All visitors must use these walkways to cross the apron and must remain in one tight group when airside
  • Refuelling: Only essential persons with the aircraft when refuelling and only if wearing hi-viz. Once refuelled, request engine start to keep fuel area clear
  • Passengers: All other visitors must enter the terminal immediately. No lingering permitted airside
  • Land’s End RMZ: Establish two-way communications prior to entering the RMZ

Land's End Radio Mandatory Zone (RMZ) 

Land’s End, St.Mary’s and RNAS Culdrose ATC all share the responsibility for the RMZ and co-ordinate the traffic between one another.

Aircraft visiting from outside Great Britain 

Aircraft visiting from outside Great Britain will be required to submit a Customs and Excise General Aviation Report (GAR) document a minimum of 12 hours prior to arrival/departing from/ to: Northern Ireland, Isles of Man, Republic of Ireland & The Channel Islands, and 24 hours prior to arrival/departure from/to non-EU destinations. For flights inbound from mainland EU airports, the document should be submitted 4 hours prior to arrival, with no requirement to submit the document for outbound flights to mainland EU airports. The GAR report should be emailed to atc@issg.co.uk.
